清代白玉水壺

The white jade teapot is round with a short spout and a loop handle, topped with a lid featuring a small round jade knob. This form is commonly seen in Chinese jade artifacts, particularly from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368–1912 CE), where similar teapot shapes were often crafted as functional or decorative items.
Material and Coloration: The teapot is made of white jade, displaying a warm, milky white hue with a fine, smooth texture, consistent with high-quality Hetian white jade. During the Qing dynasty (1644–1912 CE), especially, Hetian white jade was widely used to create exquisite objects, particularly small vessels and scholar’s items.
Craftsmanship: The teapot has a smooth surface with flowing lines, demonstrating advanced carving and polishing techniques. This level of craftsmanship is particularly prominent in Qing dynasty jade artifacts, where artisans excelled at creating delicate, refined objects with a focus on detail and overall aesthetic harmony.
